  • Bottle 2 — reward in the Lakeside Laboratory / Lake Hylia diving sequence.

⚠️ Biggoron Sword on N64 vs 3DS

On the original N64 release the Biggoron Sword (a two-hand sword that does double damage and never needs magic) can break if you save and reload while it’s equipped due to a bug, reverting to the Giant’s Knife. It is reforged by re-running the final step of the trade. The 3DS remake fixes this — the Biggoron Sword does not break there.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get the Biggoron Sword?
Complete the adult-era trading sequence that starts on Death Mountain: trade up through the Cucco, Odd Mushroom, Odd Potion, Poacher’s Saw, Broken Goron’s Sword and Prescription chain, get the Eyeball Frog and Eyedrops to Biggoron in time, and he forges the Biggoron Sword. Several steps are timed, so ride Epona.
Does the Biggoron Sword break, and how do I fix it?
On N64 it can revert to the Giant’s Knife after a save/reload because of a glitch; re-deliver the final trade item (the Claim Check / Eyedrops step) to Biggoron to reforge it. In the 3DS remake this was patched and the sword no longer breaks.
How do I get the Lens of Truth (and where is it on 3DS)?
You earn the Lens of Truth at the Bottom of the Well in Kakariko Village as a child, after defeating Dead Hand. The location is identical on N64 and the 3DS remake — head down the well once Kakariko’s well has been drained by the Song of Storms.
Where are all the bottles?
There are 4 bottles total. The common sources are: Lon Lon Ranch, the Lake Hylia / Lakeside Lab dive, the Biggoron trading chain, and the Big Poe ghost-shop reward. Any bottle can hold fairies, potions, fish, bugs or Poes.
Where do I get magic beans?
The Bean Salesman sits at the Zora’s River fork as a child and sells magic beans (price climbing each purchase). Plant them in soft soil spots as a child; as an adult, leaf plants have grown into platforms you ride up to heart pieces and shortcuts.
